Sergeant Geoff Cooper-Biography
Sgt. Geoff Cooper has been a serving police officer for 25 years and is currently the Metropolitan Police Service licensing officer for the London Borough of Croydon. He has been awarded the police long service medal and has been commended on 3 occasions.
Geoff's early police career saw him undertake a number of roles including a uniformed beat officer, response vehicle driver, riot control officer and also a spell at London Gatwick airport studying the police response to major incidents.
Since joining the Metropolitan Police Service at Croydon, Geoff has concentrated on licensing issues. He is a keen advocate of multi-agency working to achieve common goals.
Geoff has been closely involved with the Croydon Best Bar None scheme and the Think Safe, Drink Safe campaign since 2006. He is a keen supporter of the normative approach to improve standards of management in the town's pubs, clubs and bars thereby reducing alcohol related crime and anti social behaviour.
